Upbeat music can improve your workout. This, according to researchers at the University of British Columbia.

A group of 24 participants completed three 20-second sprints, with a two-minute rest in between, under three different conditions. During one workout, participants listened to motivational music, or music with a fast tempo; in another, they listened to a podcast; and in a third, they listened to no audio.

After, participants reported the greatest enjoyment in exercising to motivational music. Additionally, they had a higher heart rate and greater exercise intensity when listening to music compared with the other conditions.

This study indicates that motivational music can help people enjoy exercise and work harder during their workouts.
