Norwalk CT Counseling, Therapy, Psychiatry, and Life Coaching

A big challenge for us humans is admitting when we aren’t okay and when we could use some help. We’re quick to say, “I’m doing okay,” “I’ll figure it out,” and, “It’s no big deal,” when the truth is, “I’m not okay,” “I need help,” and, “I’m struggling.”

The first step in improving mental health and maintaining its wellbeing is understanding that it’s okay to not be okay. And more importantly, that it’s okay to ask for help when you aren’t okay.

If you aren’t okay—perhaps you’re experiencing feelings of depression or anxious thoughts; you’re struggling to get along with your significant other; or you feel angry, upset, unfulfilled—consider reaching out to a mental health professional. Mental health professionals are able to help, guide, and support individuals in a way that others can’t. They have the skills, the training, and the experience to meet the unique needs of each client they work with. And they are capable of helping you, too!

Thriveworks Counseling in Norwalk, CT was built on an important mission, that is helping people live happy, successful lives. The mental health challenges that we encounter get in the way of the good life, and we’re here to help you manage or overcome these obstacles.

If you are struggling with any of the aforementioned challenges or another challenge we have not yet touched on, reach out to Thriveworks Counseling in Fairfield County. We are here to help, guide, and support you however we can. To schedule an appointment or find out more about us, just give our office a call.

Should I Pursue Counseling or Life Coaching?

We offer both counseling and life coaching here at Thriveworks Counseling in Norwalk. Now, the two are very different. Counseling can help you work through mental health challenges and other life issues.

We’ve already touched on many of these challenges, but again, they include mental illness, relationship problems, grief and loss. Life coaching, on the other hand, is meant to help you achieve your goals and find greater success or fulfillment in your life.

The good news is that all of our life coaches are licensed professionals. So, whether you receive counseling or life coaching, you can find comfort in the fact that you are working with a qualified mental health professional who has the knowledge, training, and experience to back up their desire to help you live better.

Should I See A Licensed Psychiatrist?

Are you dealing with a mood disorder, personality disorder, or another mental health issue? If so, you may benefit from speaking with a licensed psychiatrist.

Psychiatrists complete medical school and then go on to complete a psychiatry residency for at least four years, working with many forms of mental illness. This means they are in a strong position to diagnose and treat a wide variety of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.

Having completed medical school, psychiatrists can also prescribe medication if that is deemed helpful as a part of your treatment plan

Psychiatry can be especially helpful when looking at the larger picture of a mental health challenge, from both a mental and physical perspective. Get in touch with us if you’d like to make an online appointment for psychiatry counseling.
