There might be a link between mental health and allergies. This, from researchers at Technical University of Munich.

Researchers interviewed more than 1,700 people about their allergies and their mental health. Participants reported seasonal allergies like pollen, perennial allergies such as dust and animal hair, and allergies to other substances like food and drugs. Additionally, they reported symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress.

The researchers observed that people with anxiety suffered more often from seasonal allergies, while those with depression suffered more often from perennial allergies. Surprisingly, though, there was not a link between one’s mental health and food or drug allergies.

The researchers plan to investigate further to better understand the relationship between mental health and allergies.
