Painting might be the key to romance in your relationship. Baylor University research found painting with your significant other makes for a meaningful interaction.
The study recruited 20 couples between the ages of 25 and 40 to take an hour-long painting class. After, researchers found that all couples released oxytocin, “the love hormone.”
The team was surprised to see that couples were more attentive to each other than the instructor or their canvas. They bonded in a way researchers didn’t expect, finding opportunities to interact, such as encouraging each other with a “Good job.”
This study demonstrates that painting with your significant other can have a positive impact on your relationship.
