Extroverts have a few important advantages that lead to greater success at work. This, from researchers at the University of Toronto.
The research team analyzed data from 91 studies on extroversion and work-related variables. A total of 165 variables, including motivation, work-life balance, performance, and emotional wellbeing, were considered.
Researchers found that higher extroversion improved 90% of work variables, which suggested an advantage in the workplace for extroverts. The greatest advantage was seen in four distinct categories: motivational, interpersonal, performance-related, and emotional.
This study proposes it’s beneficial to be extroverted in the workplace. Researchers acknowledge, however, that there are other factors that contribute to workplace success that their research did not consider.
