Lakeah White, LPC

To paraphrase an old but true saying, “the only thing constant in life is change.” One thing that was left out is that change can often times be scary and hard. Just when we think things are going good, life has a way of throwing us a curve ball just to make things “interesting.” Whether you are experiencing difficulty with coping with changes related to your emotions, your relationships, your job, your health, or just life in general, counseling can help.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with approximately 12 years of experience with working with children, adults, families, and couples.  I am proud to have an all-inclusive practice that serves clients and families of varying ethnicities, sexual orientations, socio-economic status, and other cultural backgrounds. I take pride in providing a comfortable and welcoming (yet always professional) environment where clients are encouraged to be open and honest. My primary goal is to help my clients to uncover their innate ability to adapt and thrive despite any challenges they may face.

Common issues that I help with include depression, anxiety, self-esteem, anger management, relationship stressors, behavior issues, trauma and abuse, stress management, relational codependency, suicidal thoughts, and grief. I utilize a holistic/systems approach to counseling in order to understand the impact that a client’s mental, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being may have on the issues that they are facing. While I believe quality training is important, I also believe that it is just as important to find a counselor that is a good “fit.” I would the love the opportunity to see if I am a good fit to help assist you on your journey. With online counseling (within the state of Georgia), 24/7 scheduling, and a complimentary 15 minute consultation, you are just one mouse click/phone call of way, so…let’s HEAL together!

Michael Charnley, LPC

Philosophy of Care

Sometimes issues grow unmanageable over a long time or sometimes it happens quickly.   No matter how these issues happen it helps to have someone to listen to and support you through those times.  My goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for my clients where they can slow down and start to take apart those issues piece by piece so they can be better understood and dealt with.  I use many different counseling styles but, ultimately, I want my clients to feel like they are just having a conversation about the struggles in their lives.

I started working with teens and their families 24 years ago.  Helping them work through their issues, separately or together, to bring understanding and acceptance back into the relationship. I also work with people of all ages, in both the public and private sector when it comes to issues listed on this profile.

People often ask about being a counselor.  I always answer the same way it is always interesting and it is a privilege that people allow you into their lives.  Just know when those issues arise there are people ready and wanting to help.  I hope you will give me that privilege.

Colin Mathews, LCSW

Philosophy of Care

Colin Mathews is a licensed therapist (LCSW) in the state of Georgia who has worked with adults, couples, families, and youth to address challenges like depression, anxiety, grief, compulsive behaviors like substance use, anger management, and relationship dysfunction. He believes that humans are inherently social animals who often suffer when they go it alone, but can change and grow in partnership with a skilled clinician. He earned a Masters of Social Work from Georgia State University and has worked with people of all cultures, colors, ages, and identities in settings including hospitals, private practice, and jail.

He specializes in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, which blends an awareness of body and mind; it uses techniques which harness the peace within us (through breathing, meditation, and yoga) to help explore difficult feelings and emotions without reacting so strongly to them. He also uses solution-focused therapy, CBT, DBT, and psychiatric referrals.

Colin believes that his job is to be a mirror through which you see your challenges more clearly, your strengths with greater focus, and glimpse the future you desire. His ideal clients desire fulfillment where there is frustration, joy where there is sadness, and peace where there is turmoil. The journey of befriending your mind begins with a conversation.
