The decision to seek individual therapy can be an uncomfortable one for many.  As a clinician, I deeply respect my clients for the strength and resilience that it takes to seek the help of a professional.  Engagement in therapy is a journey, a process- one that I would like to embark on with you.

As a client, it is important for you to know that you are not alone.  The therapeutic process is a unique and collaborative one in which you are the expert of your experience.  I will help equip you with tools to enhance your experience, while working toward your goals. I believe this is achieved through a strong client/therapist relationship, evidenced based interventions and appreciation for diversity.  I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques while working from a Person-Centered lens. As a clinician, it is important for me to see each person as an individual, using a compassionate and nonjudgmental approach.  I am also a strong proponent that one size does not fit all. Thus, treatment planning is a joint effort in which you and I work together to develop and cater treatment specific to you and your needs.

Have you been having frequent struggles with balancing your life, feeling tired and overwhelmed, or finding the motivation to get things done? I believe we all go through times like this but sometimes these periods can be harder to deal with and cope, especially for long periods of time. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have been helping and supporting individuals through some of their most difficult times in life. I have over 10 years of clinical experience in treating adults in both individual and family with numerous concerns such as, but not limited to, depression, grief, anger, stress management, chronic pain, domestic violence, sexual assault, and traumatic brain injury.

My goal is to help others find the beauty and maintain peace in their lives during and after the pressures of life. The type of therapy I practice to help achieve this, Client Centered Therapy, puts you behind the wheel leading the way with me next to you nurturing and supporting you along the journey. The benefit to this is your greater ability to begin trusting yourself in the process of growing and healing. I also like to include other approaches in therapy that teach us different ways of thinking, behaving, and being in the present moment. These approaches (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy/Mindfulness) are found to be helpful in managing stress, controlling thoughts, and finding an acceptance in things you may not be able to change.

Kinsey is a mason jar loving, southerner at heart, who loves being with her family and friends, traveling, eating, learning new things, and cherishing her alone time when she’s not entertaining her busy toddler. She has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts Degree in Community Counseling from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Atlanta Argosy University, respectively. She is licensed by the State of Georgia as a Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC #007736, and a Certified Professional Counseling Supervisor, CPCS #1272.

My Favorite

★★★★★
I have personally known Nichola Daley for over 15 years and can honestly say that she is one of the most genuine, intelligent, and compassionate people i have met. As a current behavioral health program director and employee of over 10 years, i can honestly say that Nichola develops a great rapport with every individual she encounters and performs well in problem solving and attending to their needs. Optimism and transparency are a few of her strong holds in which is why I strongly recommend her as a great therapist to consult.

When I first met Tenethria I had no idea what to expect I have never been to counseling before and I wasn’t even sure that what I was experiencing was serious enough to warrant see anybody. She assured me that I was in the right place for the right reasons and it was OK to keep talking just for work life balance coaching or anxiety management or anything like that

Linda Buie has changed my life!

★★★★★
Linda is amazing!! I had been to a couple of therapists in the past, but never really saw a significant change. When I had my first appointment with Linda, she listened intently and took a genuine interest in the struggles I was facing. On the next visit, she had an action plan, complete with visual guides and worksheets for me to complete to really address and work on the issues. Every visit she recalls exactly what we talked about previously and checks in on progress. I can't say enought nice things about Linda. She is caring, genuine, real and tells it like it is, which I love. She has a nice way of delivering information that is constructive and helpful. I am constantly recalling Linda's advice in my every day life and it has helped me tremendously. I truly feel like myself again and it's thanks to Linda's guidance.

Life Altering

★★★★★
Alex Prince has worked with me for a while. When I first saw him, I was in a very dark, depressed state with no sense of self-worth. Due to his insight and compassion I am now a very happy person with a full life. Alex truly was the component that moved me along from one stage to the next supportively and painlessly. His people skills (and humor) are invaluable. I could not have hoped for better results.

Extremely Dissapointing Service

★☆☆☆☆
Unfortunately, I will no longer be coming to counseling sessions. I cancelled the appointment with you on Monday October 1st to reschedule on October 24th. Due to the fact I was 16 minutes outside of the 23 hour cancelltion period I was chard $99.00. I was not made aware of this fee during my phone call with the receptionist but she notated in my account that I was and accepted. I only found out when I looked at my bank statement. This is extremely unethical and I called the billing department with my concerns and was told nothing can be done about this. I hope in the future Thrivworks changes its policies and trains their employees on how to properly go about making clients fully aware of policy and procedures.
Thriveworks Counseling Atlanta

Twilynn Jourdain

★★★★★
I saw Twilynn for over 3 years and I cannot express how thankful I am that she was my therapist. We worked on conflict management, confrontation, self esteem, and communication along with a variety of other topics. I still think back to her advice when difficult situations arise. She was always calm and understanding but also pushed back appropriately when I needed to be challenged. I cannot say enough good things about my experience.

Best decision

★★★★★
If you are like me, and have never received personal counseling, than I strongly recommend you give it a try. My first ever counseling appointment was at Thrive Works (Roswell/Alpharetta) with Michael Marti. I left my first session feeling misunderstood. As a result I spent the next 3 months visiting a handful of other counselors, but saw no progress toward becoming a happier, better version of me. At the end of those 3 months I finally hit rock bottom - and that's when I realized that Michael Marti (Thrive Works) was absolutely right about me. Realizing that he knew what I was going through, I immediately scheduled a second appointment. I have now received regular, weekly counseling from Michael through Thrive Works for nearly a year to this date - best decision I had made in years!
