Pregnant women shouldn’t use marijuana. Doing so can have negative effects on their baby.
More pregnant women are using marijuana than before. According to a recent analysis, marijuana use during pregnancy increased by 62% between 2002 and 2014.
And while it might provide relief to expecting moms with morning sickness, marijuana use may also negatively affect their child’s development.
The team found that children of mothers who use marijuana during pregnancy are more likely to struggle with behavioral problems, learning disabilities, and memory impairments.
Researchers say that they are still exploring whether any marijuana use could be safe during pregnancy.
