No need to feel guilty about napping. A study from the American College of Cardiology says midday napping can lower your blood pressure.
Researchers analyzed 212 people with an average age of 62 years old. They found that taking a nap during the day was linked with a significant drop in blood pressure, which reduces the risk of cardiovascular problems like heart attack.
In addition to assessing blood pressure and midday napping, researchers looked into lifestyle habits like coffee consumption and level of physical activity. They also adjusted for factors known to influence blood pressure, like age and gender.
Overall, blood pressure was lower among those who took some time out of their day to nap.
