Online Counseling Services in South Dakota

Have you ever considered seeing a counselor? Counselors help people overcome tough mental and emotional obstacles. They help people heal after difficult losses, such as the death of a close loved one. They help people manage symptoms of mental illness (like depression or anxiety), and get to the bottom of what caused it. They help people work through conflicts they have with loved ones, be it their spouse, their family members, their friends.

Counseling is an important mental health services—one that can help people just like you overcome the challenges that are standing in their way. More specifically, they can help you manage stress, work through difficult emotions, heal after tough losses, manage mental illnesses and so much more.

There isn’t anybody out there who doesn’t have a mental health issue,

whether it’s depression, anxiety, or how to cope with relationships. Having

OCD is not an embarrassment anymore for me. Just know that there is

help and your life could be better if you go out and seek the help.”

Online Counseling: Does It Work? How Does It Work?

We’re going to cut to the chase: Yes, online counseling really works. Some people are a little wary of beginning online counseling because it’s the less conventional approach, but research shows that it is just effective. And Thriveworks Counseling has observed its effectiveness, too. Our clients love online counseling, specifically the comfort and convenience that it offers. If you’re on the fence about it, consider this: What do you have to lose? If you do take the leap and give online counseling a try, and you find that it isn’t for you, no problem. You can always return to in-person counseling.

If you’d like to give it a try, Thriveworks Counseling has two options for you: telephone counseling or videoconference counseling. These are both effective online counseling approaches and come down to mere preference. If you’d prefer to have a more intimate, face-to-face interaction with your counselor, you’d probably prefer the videoconference option. If you’d prefer the opposite, phone counseling would likely be the option for you!

How Can Online Counseling Help Me? What Can I Accomplish?

We want you to really remember and understand that the major difference between in-person and online counseling is the environment that it’s conducted in. Online counseling can address your needs and help you meet your goals, just like in-person counseling can. This means that online counseling has the potential to help you…

  • Resolve relationship issues in couples therapy or marriage counseling
  • Heal from traumatic experiences in PTSD or trauma therapy
  • Better manage symptoms of depression in depression therapy
  • Improve relationships with your family members in family therapy
  • Manage stress in stress management counseling

These are just a few items from a much longer list of the goals that you might accomplish with an online counselor. If you are interested in making important changes in life that will have a positive impact on your overall happiness and mental wellbeing, consider working with one of our professionals. We are here to help.
