Alexandra Latta, LCMHC

Philosophy of Care

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor In the state of North Carolina with a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from NCA&T State University. I have provided clinical services to children, adolescents, and adults ranging from early adulthood to late adulthood in multiple settings. My counseling experiences include clients that have various backgrounds and life experiences. I have counseled clients with some of the following concerns: gender exploration, relationship orientation, homeliness, trauma, grief/loss, relationship conflict, work/life balance issues, anxiety, and depression.

The counseling process would be a collaborative effort to help navigate presenting concerns using evidence-based practices/interventions. My treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindfulness Practice.

Seeking help is the first step of many to having a more satisfying quality of life. A lack of resources, supports, or insight of a problem can make finding a solution seem almost impossible. I recognize that a perception of a problem is unique. I am committed to instilling hope and assist with identifying existing barriers to achieving personal goals.

Travis Annette Bittle, LCMHC

Philosophy of Care

Sometimes we find ourselves in a place where we feel stuck or lost and have a sense of wanting to change the way things are. Therapy can help. My aim is to provide you a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can explore the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that are distressing or overwhelming. Therapy is a co-collaborative process in which you gain greater insight into yourself, better understanding of your own strengths, and learn how to enact positive changes in your present life. I provide individual and couples therapy to adolescents and adults of all backgrounds and experiences.

I am passionate about helping you to overcome challenges, grow in your relationships, and find meaning and purpose in your life. I have worked with individuals and couples primarily focused on the following issues: anxiety, grief/loss, relationship issues, life transitions, identity, chronic health problems, trauma, and difficulty managing emotions.

I am active and supportive throughout the therapeutic process. It is important that your values shape the counseling process, as you identify your goals, and together we work towards achieving them using a variety of skills/techniques. An open therapeutic relationship is most important, as it is the foundation of positive change.

The human experience is filled with times of joy resiliency and many opportunities. We all have moments of being at the top of the mountain or in the valleys below. The human being may struggle at times, while in the valleys however can show remarkable achievement across their lifespan. The helping profession which does include counseling can prove to be a remarkable experience. Even through the times of struggle one can become empowered to reach a very balanced and fulfilled existence. We all carry our accomplishments as well as our challenges. Our efforts in the helping profession are to follow alongside those we help and provide compassionate, unfiltered, and unconditional positive regard. Our experiences, however unique, do have experience in common with others. Exploring the essence of our existence, although sometimes hard, is extremely rewarding in the end. We walk the path together.

If I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.” – Mahatma Ghandi

Thriveworks Counseling Charlotte

Great Counselor

★★★★★
I've worked with Mrs. Matson for close to a year now and I can say with certainty that she's a great counselor to go to for help with emotional regulation and understanding, grief management, and processing trauma in healthy and beneficial ways. Her use of meditation techniques to get to the root of my emotions and habits have helped me understand so much about myself and why I operate the way I do. I'd definitely recommend her to anyone just starting out looking for a good counselor, or anyone looking for a friendly empathetic professional who listens well and draws from a wealth of information to provide really quality services.

Thriveworks Counseling Charlotte

Not servicing patients

★☆☆☆☆
A place/facility that isn’t accepting any new patients. You rave about how you are here to help and treat people but really you aren’t at all. How is some one supposed to get help if you aren’t willing to help them. Very disappointed with Thriveworks and their lack of assisting.
Thriveworks Counseling Charlotte

For my son

★★★★☆
The service was fine. We came in for an evaluation for my son Bryant. Mrs. Hamel was professional and seemed to be able to talk with Bryant although his lips sometimes get in the way of being understood by others.
