Larissa L. Smith, LCSW
Philosophy of Care
I like to provide a calm and welcoming environment in a world that may at times seem overwhelming. I have always found that not only are people's needs situationally specific, but so is the individual. In my time practicing, I have worked with a variety of people working to achieve many different goals, and together we have worked to identify such and build a framework to best achieve self-identified happiness. I have worked with individuals to assist on a path to finding a new and most positive direction in life. I like to know that happiness comes in many ways. One of my favorite sayings is "Do something good for yourself today".
In my time practicing, I have come to find that my realm of training to be of benefit to the broad range of clients that I serve. Of such, I specialize in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Re-Processing), as well as utilization of a Thera Tapper, Hypnosis, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Reiki Therapy.
I like to start every session saying that I am very easy going and more than willing to answer any questions at any point. My purpose is to get to know you as a person and not just a piece of paper or diagnosis. We have all had strife in life in some way, and the crisis or struggling point, is different. Yet, don't stop there. Find peace within the journey.
