Counseling for children in Colorado Springs, CO – Setting the foundation so your child can thrive
Our children’s well-being and happiness is oftentimes a top priority in families. From school functions, to sports practices, concerts and parties, we spend hours each day shuttling them around town. Not to mention homework, chores, family time, meals…. Raising children is tough work! Raising children is especially difficult emotionally. When they hurt, we hurt. At Thriveworks Colorado Springs, we know there is little you won’t do to set your child up for success. We want the same thing for your child. Let’s set a foundation that will build their self-esteem and confidence, improving their well-being, happiness, and success.
As we are racing through the days with our many activities on our calendars, we often forget to take the time to establish and monitor our children’s emotional health. At Thriveworks Child Therapy Colorado Springs, we believe that children and families can find substantial benefit in meeting with a counselor.
Why choose Colorado Springs Thriveworks Child Therapy?
It’s difficult to see your child facing difficult issues. Thriveworks Colorado Springs Child Therapy is equipped with the skills needed to get your child back to a place they can grow and thrive. The sooner your son or daughter works through the difficult situation with us, the better. Working through a situation early on helps to prevent poor coping habits and prevents a drop in their self-esteem.
Parents will oftentimes bring their son or daughter to therapy, just as they would for a routine dental checkup. The check up with your child is preventive in nature, checking in on their emotional health. Other times, parents will have spent hours weighing options, deciding if help is needed and who to reach out to for help. In either case, know that our therapists are experienced with helping children of all ages and for a variety of concerns.
Families pursue child therapy for many reasons:
- Difficulty in making and keeping friendships
- Anger outbursts
- Lack of confidence and self esteem
- Eating concerns
- Autism concerns
- Difficulty in focusing on schoolwork
- Discipline issues at school or home
- Stress and anxiety
- School attendance concerns
- Loss of a friend or loved one
We want to be sure to mention that child therapy is used to treat past and present emotional pains, as well as helping your child to grow and develop higher levels of personal development. Growth in compassion and empathy will help them in their social world. Growth in self-esteem will help them cope with mistakes and try new things. Growth in perseverance will help them to hang in there and not give up quickly when things become difficult. All of these areas of development help a child to become resilient, which will help them to have the confidence to overcome whatever life throws at them.
