Lance Henson, LPC, CFMHE, CCE
Philosophy of Care
Paramount to treatment is often selecting the right provider. My approach to treatment involves building trust while encouraging open and honest dialogue in a safe environment. Over my 30 year career, I have provided individual, group, and family counseling to children, adolescents, and adults in private, public, and academic settings.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am trained to treat a myriad of life challenges including, but not limited to, relationship challenges, mood disorders, anxiety disorders including PTSD, and behavioral difficulties. As a Certified Forensic Mental Health Evaluator, I am able to perform “fitness for duty”, risk assessments, psychosexual and competency evaluations, among others. Additionally, my certification as a Child Custody Evaluator enables me to perform comprehensive child custody evaluations and make recommendations to the court.
My life experience as a Navy Veteran, husband, and father offers an authentic approach to the counseling relationship. In addition to individual and family counseling, I am pleased to offer (based on participant interest) a weekly faith based Men’s Group aimed at addressing challenges specific to men in today’s world.
I look forward to partnering with you soon to assess your needs and develop a plan to reach your personal goals.
