What can you expect during your sessions?
Counseling and mental health care is becoming more common; it is viewed as an integral part of our all-around health and wellness. Studies continue to be published linking psychology with physical health. Many people are setting up their first appointment, and they may see it as unnerving because they don’t know what to expect.
When you call our number, you’ll talk with someone who will set you up with an appointment and gather your insurance information. You are welcome to look at the website, read about our clinicians and request someone also. They will give you directions to the office and answer any of your questions. You’ll receive an email with paperwork to fill out before the appointment, or you can arrive a few minutes early and fill the paperwork out before the session.
At the first appointment, your counselor will invite you into a comfortable and modern office. You are welcome to bring in tea or coffee (complimentary). We’ll chat about the paperwork and the reason you are seeking counseling. We’ll discuss what you’d like to get out of therapy. By getting to know you, your strengths, values and passions, we can work together toward your goals. Many times, we see clients one time per week for about 3 months. However, sometimes, a few sessions is all that is needed; and other times, more than 3 months is beneficial. You have control over your treatment and will work together with your counselor to guide the sessions.
We know that finding time for appointments is difficult, since life can get busy! We try to make things as convenient as possible for you. You’ll see our location near Powers and Research is easy to get to. We have evening and weekend appointments and no waiting list. Our offices are modern and relaxing with Wi-Fi, a charging station, tea and coffee. Let us help you or your loved one; call today to schedule a Medicaid covered counseling appointment. 719-266-3919
