**Group therapy provided only at West Lake Hills office (5524 Bee Caves Rd., Suite #K4 Austin, TX 78746)

Summary

Being a teen in the 21st century is hard and very challenging. The internet, although a priceless tool, can cause additional pressures to be attractive, smart, witty, and fit in. The expectations are often unrealistic for some teens to meet and leave them feeling sad or that they are “not good enough”. These feelings can be overwhelming and often times you don’t have the tools or skills to work through these feelings in a safe place. In addition to the pressures of the media, you are expected to perform well in school, make friends, get along with your family, set goals for your future, and make your parents proud. To top it off, you may be struggling with mental health issues and although medication is often very helpful, you can still believe that you are all alone and that no one understands what you are going through. Being a part of an intimate group weekly will provide for you with the opportunity to talk about your feelings, share your thoughts, get support from your therapist and peers, and learn new healthy coping strategies to replace destructive behaviors that only work in the short term.
