Hannah Hayden, LCSW
Hi! If you’re reading this, it means that you have taken a brave step to seek out therapy for you or for someone else – congrats! Choosing to seek out help can be scary, but you should know that you are in good hands. Hannah has been an LCSW since 2019 and although she is “new” to the licensure, she is not new to helping those who seek it out. Hannah has worked in many different environments as a clinical social worker, before and after earning her licensure. All of her previous experience has led her to provide treatment to many individuals of all ages.
Hannah’s clinical services are open to everyone, but children and adolescents tend to gravitate towards her because she has a playful personality that fosters an environment for them to thrive. Hannah will also work with individuals outside of this age range because she has the expertise to adapt her therapeutic techniques to a variety of clients. No matter the age of a client, Hannah has a strong desire to empower individuals to achieve optimal well-being and to do everything in her power to teach her clients the skills they need to succeed in life.
Many people view therapists as a group of people who just “give advice”. While Hannah hopes that every one of her sessions feels helpful in this way, her therapy sessions go much farther than just advice-giving. Hannah uses techniques from various models including, but not limited to, Solutions-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to teach her clients new ways to cope with life’s stressors, while creating a non-judgmental space that enables her clients to process why these stressors exist to begin with. Beyond Hannah’s skills as a licensed clinician, her clients will receive the most authentic version of herself to ideally make them feel comfortable to do the same. Life can be hard, but with the right skillset, Hannah believes anyone can achieve success and happiness for themselves.
Hannah’s specialties include:
- Children (8+)/Teens/Young adults
- Relationships
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Mood Disorders
- Trauma and Stress related
- CBT

Jennifer Macaraeg, Supervisee in Social Work
Philosophy of Care
I am a Supervisee in Social Work in the state of Virginia and I’m currently working towards my license to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have over 10 years of experience working with several different populations in all various age groups. As a Hampton Roads native, I have experience working with military families and have an understanding of the impact that military life can have on an individual and their family. I have also worked in the family services field and have worked with clients who have suffered from different types of trauma. In a more recent position, I worked with hospice patients and their families in processing their acceptance of end of life and helping them process and navigate through their grief and loss. Additionally, I am a Certified Case Manager (CCM) with 3 years of experience working in Managed Care. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Old Dominion University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California.
I utilize various treatment approaches to include, but are not limited to, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing and mindfulness techniques to assist clients in the therapeutic process. I believe flexibility in therapy is also important as the needs of the client can quickly change from one session to the next. I want my clients to feel comfortable in speaking with me and allowing me to be a part of their therapy process. I want to be able to establish a healthy and therapeutic relationship with my clients to assist and empower them in reaching their treatment goals by helping them identify their strengths and building on them.

Juan Turon, PhD. LMFT
It's great to be back home. When I first came from Argentina, at 16 years of age, Virginia Beach was my first destination. I graduated high school at Bishop Sullivan Catholic High. Immediately after that, I moved to Florida where I earned my Bachelor's degree in General Psychology and my Master's Degree and PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy. In 2005 I participated in the studies abroad international summer program at Cambridge University in England where I took courses on anthropology and the rise of civilizations. While studying family therapy I was blessed to work with and learn from Salvador Minuchin, one of the founding fathers of the craft. I was also a presenter at the 2015 International Family Therapy Conference. My work with one family was selected to be shown by Minuchin himself in Rome, Italy in 2016.
After many years of coming back to Virginia to visit, my wife and daughter decided to move here in July of 2018. I look forward to working with couples and families and to giving back to this community that gave me so much.
I specialize in the treatment of individuals, couples and families who are dealing with:
- Anxiety
- Marriage/Relationship issues
- Depression
- Bipolar Disorder
- Trauma
- Divorce
- Stress

Matthew Parvis, Ph.D., LMFT, LPC
Perhaps you have been struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, loss, or post-traumatic stress. Or maybe it’s been so long since your relationship was joyful that you doubt that it can be again. Dr. Matthew Parvis has over thirty years of experience in practice as both a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor helping thousands of individuals and couples create positive and lasting changes in their lives.
Dr. Parvis uses many approaches in treating individuals and couples, however, the truth is that all treatment approaches are tools and a tool is only as useful as the skills of the craftsman. Dr. Parvis has the clinical expertise to apply any tool at his disposal that helps you move toward your goal. Therapy is a collaboration and a conversation between therapist and client on your journey of growth, healing, and meaningful change.
The hardest step in therapy is the first one: taking the risk of letting someone genuinely know you, so that you can better accept and understand yourself. Dr. Parvis considers caring, acceptance, and respect as the foundation for success in the therapeutic experience. Therapy is most valuable when you experience being seen, heard, and understood. From that trust comes the willingness to take one step at a time is creating the life and relationships you desire.

I specialize in individual and couples therapy, addressing a range of issues like depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and women’s issues. I also have experience working with faith-based communities.

Samantha Lindtner, Resident in Counseling
Philosophy of Care
Hi, there! I am a Resident in Clinical Social Work in the state of Virginia. After growing up in the Chicago suburbs, I relocated to Hampton Roads and couldn’t be happier to live near the ocean. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Illinois State University and a Master of Social Work from University of Illinois. As a military spouse, I love helping individuals and families navigate the intricacies of military life. I have spent my post-graduate career working as a school social worker and I am passionate about issues regarding school and special education.
I utilize a holistic approach that focuses on building a relationship first. I work with clients of all ages and aim to collaborate with each individual to determine the best possible course of treatment. I will use techniques which draw from cognitive behavioral, solution focused and person-centered approaches. I am also a certified yoga teacher and enjoy including therapies that strengthen the mind/body connection, such as mindfulness, meditation and gentle movement.
I hope to create space for my clients to release emotions, uncover patterns and heal from traumas. Inner work can only be done by you, but there is absolutely no reason you should do it alone.
