Christian Counseling in Midlothian, VA—Christian Counselors, Coaches, and Therapists
Following your faith and living up to your strong Christian values isn’t always easy. Consider: You pray to God daily, attend church every Sunday, and read your bible when you feel like you need a little guidance or a pick-me-up. But then, life gets busier and busier until you’ve abandoned these habits and forgotten all about your faith. You can’t remember the last time you prayed, went to church, or pulled out your bible.
Don’t worry. It’s only human to fall out of routine and put important parts of life on the backburner. Remember: God loves you, always. If you are struggling with a serious mental health challenge or issue, but you haven’t been particularly present in your faith, you need not worry even then. He is still there to guide and support you. Additionally, you can find this faithful guidance and support in Christian counseling.
Faith is to believe what we do not see, and the reward of this faith is to see what we believe. –Augustine

Does Christian Counseling Really Work? How?
Like traditional counseling, Christian counseling at Thriveworks Midlothian is here to help you through the challenging situations you face in life. However, the difference here is that Christian counseling is led by counselors who share in your Christian faith. You will work with them, in your shared beliefs, to grow, find greater happiness, and strengthen your relationship with God along the way.
During your first Christian counseling session, your counselor will want to get to know you a little better. They’ll work to understand your specific needs and goals for Christian counseling. Then, they will use this understanding to design a unique plan of care for you moving forward. They can better decide on the therapeutic practices that might benefit you as well as the Christian principles and scriptures that can best supplement treatment.
When you’re ready to begin working with a Thriveworks Midlothian Christian counselor, please reach out. You can expect the following from your time in Christian counseling:
- Scripture-reading: It’s important to understand, remember, and learn from the lessons that are detailed in the bible. During your Christian counseling sessions, your counselor might bring attention to different scriptures and talk about the lessons that one can take away from them.
- Utilization of therapeutic techniques and tools: Don’t forget that Christian counselors are professionals who aren’t only well-versed in their faith but in the mental health field. They will identify and utilize effective therapeutic techniques and tools to use in your specific situation. They will also work to equip you with the skills and tools needed to better address future challenges that directly affect your mental health and wellbeing.
There are many different ways in which a Christian counselor can assist you during your time in Christian counseling. As mentioned previously, the time you spend with us will not go to waste, as your treatment plan will be crafted with your specific needs in mind.
