I liked your article it is definitely true of me and most other entrepreneurs I know. I would add, though you touched on it somewhat, that an entrepreneur is capable of self-motivation and is more apt to have a fierce need for independence and freedom to make the rules and make changes when these are necessary. Most organizations have established rules and will not change these even when they are not working.

I value the freedom to change and adapt things that need correction, and learn from mistakes on how things could be improved. This is something most entrepreneurs noticed when working for others. Most organizations and people are reticent to change and making improvements in established organizations, even if for the best, will often result in frustration for everyone. While it is true that owning your own practice comes with sacrifice, entrepreneurs are willing to do so because we value independence, even if it comes at the cost of many work hours to get the business going. In the end, those hours will pay off because we are working for ourselves.

The cost to have someone handle the billing us approximately 7 percent of the amount paid per session. Or there are software programs that therapists can use to do their own billing. The hidden cost of private practice includes office rent?z?z?'' insurance" advertising 'investment in a good website designer and networking events to get word of mouth referrals . In this current climate therapists who want to take insurance need to get on panels. This can take a great deal of time while the application is being reviewed. I have been in private practice for 20 plus years. In my experience it's best to begin with a business plan and to consult with a professional who can prior to launching a practice present s picture of the costs as we as the skillset needed to succeed.

The process of getting on panels for insurance is expensive and requires the therapist to provide a great deal of info to companies who then enter the info on their software and may or may not be able to get the therapist on the panels. You may want to address un a future article the type if info the insurance company requires and the fee for handling the application on behalf of the therapist.
