I am working on getting that corrected. The second paragraph (which is the first here) should answer your question about bonding. Please keep in mind this is MY opinion from MY education and experience. Take from it what is useful to you, discard the rest.
The “meme” and allusion to “relationship classes” were not intended as literal solutions or face value comparisons. Meant as humorous food for thought. I actually have used algebra on three occasions after high school – for college entrance exams!! The idea is that learning how to be in relationships – for better or worse – is something we could use every day. No offense meant to Algebra as a discipline or those who use it.

There’s something wrong on a deeper level with society as a whole. Why did bonding come so naturally to us before, and now we have a 50%+ divorce rate? I don’t think it’s because we don’t have classes in school teaching kids about forming relationships (which is really something that should be taught by the parents, anyway – are we forgetting that parents teach their kids things as well?)

Also please stop propagating this “meme” that algebra is useless because you don’t actually use it outside of school.
