A regular old pad and paper work for me! Stepping back and making the lists of things to be done brings the most interesting or pertinent to the top naturally, so I start there. It also helps to define the category - it would not be hard to write down the tasks under two columns, "on" and "in" so that you don't mistake one for the other.

Sounds like great advice for many people. Mindfulness and balance go a long ways. Not only "climbing out" of the always-on, always-TMI, virtual reality, impression & anxiety managing, and being fully "immersed" in business. The antidote may be smart for business, but it's also smart - and important - in non-business life, human relationships, nature appreciation, etc. Be mindful. And as you say, if the twitching (for phone or "tweeter") sets on very quickly, take even more time off, until feeling "real" in the real world, unattached from a device & screen, is not only bearable but enjoyable, and cherished. My 2 cents, FWIW.
