Good advice ... In our county the courts usually direct these types to the county mental health facility and require some AA or NA meetings every week (usually 3 a week or so)... I got started in my recovery through the courts and AA... Hopefully he will find his path. The quicker he finds his bottom the better. The 12 steps groups can help him find bottom w/o suffering so many consequences.

Does he have a job? If so I know you.have no control over his money. But if he doesn't , and I'm sure you have tried to keep control over that. He needs to hit rock bottom before he can even come back to the surface for air. Does he live with you, if he doesn't than you can cut yourself off as hard as that would be. If he does still live with you much harder... Still try to cut your self off from him, be in another room, on phone, leave house. Put lock on bedroom door. If he gets arrested , don't bail him out ( I know that's hard ) but best for him! Don't put up with any bull / hard as that sounds call the cops. I have personnel experience with this and my niece she was heroin and other stuff. My sister kept bailing her out and one morning we found her dead. She was 24. Good luck and God Bless
