I’ve been in solo private practice for over 10 years in Maryland and just recently opened a separate LLC expanding into more of a Wellness approach contracting other professionals beyond mental health to include Yoga Massage and Dietician services. Each operates as a 1099 Contractor for the LLC. Where we are located is a TriState area – with less than a 10 minute drive I’m in 2 other states, and a 30 minute drive I’m in yet a 3rd state. One of the contractors is considering relocating to one of these states and we’re discussing the option of the LLC expanding to have an office across state lines. Is this a total nightmare? I know each practitioner will have to have their own professional license in that state where they’re providing face to face services, but where I’m unclear is the piece of having a satellite office and if that’s just crazy to consider in multiple states.
