I am curious as to why the author of the blog article "Gender Dysphoria in Adolescents and Adults DSM-5 302.85 (F64.1)" chose to insert male gendered pronouns (he/his) into what is otherwise a direct, gender neutral, quote from the DSM-5?

Considering that persons of either sex can experience gender dysphoria, the use of gendered language in describing the diagnostic criteria is both scientifically inaccurate and potentially biased.

In addition, the term "sex change" is both outdated and inacurate. "Gender transition" is the term commonly used to describe the overall process whereas the terms "gender confirmation surgery" or "gender affirmation surgery" are used to denote surgical intervention in particular.

I would urge the editors of Thriveworks to review this blog post and make such changes as necessary to fix the issues noted.
