Wow...such a well written article and I see the rationale behind it (because I am on the business side). I wonder how many clients end up getting counseling somewhere else (with a less reputable company) or worse...end up getting no counseling when they really need it because of their bias to our systems. I feel a little sad for those folks who genuinely need us (and lest's face it...in the behavioral health world communication is a huge part of what we do.)

I would add that I am famous for saying, "We are not the Wal-Mart of counseling" which really means we won't guarantee the lowest price. I feel comfortable saying it because I believe that you get what you pay for. I think that qualifier falls directly in line with this article. The overarching sentiment is that we care so much that we must have high standards! We care so much that we must get the no show policy in place along with the scheduling paperwork, and so forth to enable success with every client. We do it for the client who MUST commit and MUST communicate in order to grow. I honestly pray that our clients read this article and "feel" as much as "understand" the reasons why we have such high standards of care.

I am proud of our standards of care, systems, and personnel...my challenge is always to help others in spite of preconceived notions and communication shortfalls. Give us a chance and we will change your life!
