Hi Buzz,

Starting a cash practice is no easy feat, but some do still pull it off. One place to start might to be read out book on starting a private practice that can be found here: https://twx.atlantacounseling.com/counseling-private-practice-book/. Also, perhaps working for an agency would be a good fit for you. The closest Thriveworks office to you is in Charlotte, NC. Indeed.com is a good (free) place to search for agency counselor jobs, too. Best of luck!

Hello!

You can help me. Can't you?

I recently retired from government service as a psychotherapist at age 62. I really want to pursue a private practice, but I do not desire to deal with the hassles of collecting from insurance or state funding. I am looking to do cash only, confidential sort of concierge practice. I am fully licensed dually in NC in human services.

Can you suggest a paid company or agency who can advise me or guide me on setting up a practice and can tell me how to navigate the maze of paperwork and needed forms with steps/procedures needed ... somewhat of a ("crudely) "counselor in a box?"

You are certainly aware of such concerns. Please tell me some options.

I thank you in advance.

Buzz Godwin, LMFT, LPC --- Statesville, NC
