Hi Brooke, a licensed therapist might work for a Community Mental Health Center, a Group Practice, a Solo Practice, for an insurance company, in an HR department at a company, or maybe even for the government I suppose. Even for schools, which I know you don't want. There are lots of venues--these are just a few. :-)

Hello,
I would love to ask a question about transitioning from a teacher to a counselor. I know I have to get my maters degree from an accredited program. I want to start part-time and still teach, but maybe the last year for clinical hours leave the teaching profession to focus on my hours. Then what happens? Once you graduate, where do most people get hired at? Government? A group practice? I do not want to be at a school. Is there an article for fresh graduated? I know this will take me three years, but I am thinking about it now. I do not want to put my family in financial hardship. What do most beginning counselors make? Thank you if you can help/direct me.
